 Ministry of Defence EstatesThe MoD has land and buildings worth £18.9 billion, and this estate has complex management requirements. We created a web application that enables their national network of suppliers and managers to upload information and assess the environmental impact of their buildings in a secure online environment. We worked in partnership with BDP Architects to develop this online building assessment tool. This was the first web enabled online assessment tool of its kind. The ease of use and availabilty from any online computer has seen a huge take up from users. We have made many improvements to the tool, adding a statistic module and enabling full assessments to be made at each stage of the building process. This has empowered Defense Estates to analyse the sustainability of their building projects.
