Red C partnered with Warmup, the UK's leading underfloor heating experts to improve the performance of their existing app and the app's connection to the heating system, using IoT technology. The new 'My Heating' mobile app uses the location services already built into your smartphone to calculate how long it will take you to get home and set the temperature accordingly, saving user's money.
Warmup approached Red C with an existing app that was difficult for customers to use. Warmup commissioned Red C to improve their existing mobile app by making it quick and simple to use with one or more thermostats, improving the user experience and subsequently, customer experience.
There were technical issues with the app which required thorough investigation before the Red C team were able to release the 'MyHeating' app to the app stores.
Red C worked with Warmup to improve the user experience of the app, the performance of the API connections, and to fix several bugs within the app. Additionally, as the app has a global user base we ensured that the app works seamlessly across 7 different languages.
We started with a thorough code review of the existing 'MyHeating' app to identify key issues and coding standards that needed improvements. Following this, we looked at the backlog of requested improvements and worked with Warmup's internal technical team to propose solutions.
Our development team faced a number of technical challenges such as ensuring the accuracy of receiving temperature readings which we overcame, and in doing so created a superior product for Warmup's customers. Our Quality Assurance team carried out UAT testing and after implementing client feedback we submitted the 'MyHeating' mobile app to both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
The app has been extremely well received amongst Warmup's customers after launch as customers describe it as 'work[ing] perfectly', 'instinctive and very easy to use'.
"Very user friendly and an awesome system."
