In November 2017, Red C was shortlisted for 4 awards at the UK App Awards. Psyma - Making Therapy Accessible, for Health and Fitness App of the Year; Fashtagd - Fashion Tagging, for Retail App of the Year; and Triptalk - Your Story Maker, for Travel App of the Year and Social Media App of the Year.
Unfortunately, the Judges decided not to release a shortlist for all categories, and instead waited to release the winner of some categories on the evening. Red C had also entered Centtrip - Multi Currency Exchange, for B2B Business and Finance App of the Year, so took a chance and invited the client along to the awards ceremony.
Having put a lot of hard work into the design and development of each of these apps, we were very excited to be attending the award ceremony held at The Brewery by Don’t Panic Events. With the possibility of taking home more than one award, we waited patiently among other developers and app owners to hear the winner of each category announced.
The first category was Health and Fitness App of the Year, where we were up against some strong competitors. However, we were thrilled to hear Red C’s Pysma app announced as the winner!
Psyma app is one of the UK’s first mental health apps to offer online therapy. This eliminates time and money spent on travel and offers users access to professionally trained psychologists at a time and place that suits them best. The app was described as a ‘life-changing platform’ by the judges as it could prevent those who suffer from mental health issues from suffering unnecessarily. The app has a simple appointment booking feature and allows new users one free session when they start using the app.
Moving on into the evening, Red C waited eagerly to hear about B2B Business and Finance App of the Year. Before we knew it, the hosts had announced ‘Centtrip - Foreign currency exchange’ as winners of the category!
Centtrip are a multi-award winning foreign currency service, providing companies and individuals with an easy way to manage their international transactions. The Centtrip card provides a single view Global Currency Account with a 0% conversion free for account holders. Centtrip understood their customers need for mobility and turned their attention to a mobile app. Centtrip approached Red C to help them replace their outdated system with new technology and a design that better reflected their brand. Our strategy was to create a stylish and sophisticated looking app which appealed to Centtrip's target demographic, and to make a complex process of managing accounts simple and intuitive.
Red C were super excited by the awards we received and the positive response from our followers who got us trending no.6 on Twitter in the UK! This year, Red C was shortlisted for 2 awards: Education App of the Year 2018 for eCPD NHS Bart's Health App, and Finance App of the Year 2018 (again) for Sharecentre Trading App. We went along to the awards which was held at The Montcalm Marble Arch, and luckily enough were pleased to receive the Education App of the Year Award! We went up to collect our award and enjoyed the evening with lovely food and wine. What a great way to end the year!
