Moving Ahead’s award-winning social enterprise arm Women Ahead was founded with the belief that parity between men and women will benefit individuals, organisations and society as a whole. Women Ahead approached Red C to develop a new exciting web-application to manage Mentor/ Mentee matching programmes.
Women Ahead were expanding their mentoring programmes and an increase in the volume of new clients meant that Women Ahead could no longer manually match mentors with mentees. Women Ahead required an enhanced digital solution to automatically match mentors and mentees based on a complex algorithm and matching criteria.
Red C created a bespoke database to store Mentor and Mentee’s personal information and learning preferences. We developed a scoring mechanism to profile each candidate which allowed us to match mentors and mentees using a matching algorithm.
Red C visited the Women Ahead office to gain a greater understanding of their objective for the app, and found that their goal was to create positive change by providing mentoring programmes, masterclasses, and research to improve diversity and inclusion.
Red C worked closely with the Women Ahead team to create a migration script that would transfer user data from the existing system to the new platform.
Once the system was built, Red C carried out extensive testing to ensure the algorithm we developed produced optimal matches.
As part of our ongoing support and maintenance, Red C and Women Ahead are working together to build new features with a plan on further improving the web-app solution for their clients.
