Poplar Harca

Web solution to rebrand Poplar Harca, award-winning Housing Association in East London.

Poplar Harca, established in 1998, is an award-winning Housing Association in East London. Poplar Harca helps to create a place where people, communities and businesses grow and thrive. Red C has a long term partnership with Poplar Harca, managing and hosting their websites.

Aim

Poplar Harca required a new website to help their tenants find the information they needed quickly and easily, implementing their recent rebrand.

We found that the Poplar Harca website had lots of information to offer, however, most of it was hidden away on pages that were difficult to find.

Process

Red C visited Poplar Harca to carry out detailed user testing interviews. We created a list of tasks and questions for members of staff from different departments to complete. We then recorded their screens while they completed each task to see how they interacted with the current website, and to flag any issues.

Red C built the new website using Drupal, a powerful open source content management system. The site included many different forms allowing tenants to inquire about their homes, the community and many local businesses.

We created a workflow in the backend, allowing the relevant information submitted by website users to notify the correct department.

We also ensured that Poplar Harca staff could update the website themselves with any new information.

Solution

Red C worked alongside a branding agency to create detailed wireframes mapping out different user journeys for different audiences. We interviewed staff from different departments to find out the issues they were having with the site and used this information to create a new structure that was easy to navigate. We also ensured that Poplar Harca staff could update the website themselves with any new information.
